Typically, a higher thread count means tighter, softer and more durable. With a thread count of more than 200, the duvet cover can remain quite affordable. Comforters can be filled with polyester, silk or down alternative. Down typically comes from geese or ducks, but goose down is fluffier and warmer than duck down. And a goose down comforter will last longer and look better than one made with duck down. Comforters usually require special care and cleaning. To avoid this, you should purchase a duvet cover, and duvet covers are usually much easier to clean. They are easy to remove for washing.
The unit has the traditional function of foot bath, and also comes with a Far Infrared / Bamboo Charcoal Waist Belt and one array The latest studies have shown that bamboo charcoal made from 5 year old bamboo from remote mountains, refined through high temperature have a great absorption effect to purify the air or water and adjust humidity. The bamboo charcoal also emits far infrared rays, negative ions and absorbs electromagnetic waves. The waist belt made of bamboo charcoal can warm your body, relieve muscle aching, increase the cells’ activities, and accelerate the blood circulation. Far Infrared rays are waves of energy, totally invisible to the naked eye, capable of penetrating deep into the human body, where they gently elevate the body’s surface temperature and activate major bodily functions. Far Infrared expands capillaries, which stimulates increased blood flow, regeneration, circulation and oxygenation. Far Infrared stimulates enzyme activity and metabolism - FIR heat also breaks down cellulite - trapped water, fat and waste. Now it costs you just $197.41, which has 30% off! Hurry to buy it home and relax yourself!

The Thanksgiving turkey is the main attraction of the Thanksgiving dinner, and is straightforward to prepare, as long as one has allowed ample time for thawing and cooking. Other methods, such as brining and deep frying may liven up the traditional meal’s centerpiece, but require special equipment. Here i’ll show you some unique and interesting Thanksgiving Turkey, they need little money and can’t be eaten as delicious Thanksgiving dinner.

1.Fall Leaf Turkey for kids

This simple craft is made with natural materials (leaves and a pinecone.
Materials Needed:

    * Fall leaves
    * pinecone
    * eyes (wiggly or paper)
    * paper
    * glue
    * scissors

Instructions:

    * Go outside and collect autumn leaves and a pinecone (this is LOADS of fun, especially if it requires a trip to a park!)

    * OPTIONAL: You can press the leaves for a few days before making the craft. This will help keep them from getting crunchy. We didn’t do this for ours (we’ve had it about 2 weeks now and it still looks fine)

    * Glue the leaves onto a piece of paper in a fan shape. Younger kids won’t get a nice fan, but they’ll still have lots of fun gluing!

2.Colors Turkey Paper Crafts

This is a simple cut and paste paper craft good "just for fun", colors practice, a Thanksgiving theme, a farm theme, a birds theme, or an animals theme.

Instructions:

4.Numbers Turkey Paper Crafts

This is a simple cut and paste paper craft good "just for fun", numbers practice, a Thanksgiving theme, a farm theme, a birds theme, or an animals theme.

There are four different numbers turkeys available:

    Count by Ones

    Count by Twos

    Count by Fives

    Count by Tens

Materials:

    * something to colour with if using the B&W version,
    * scissors,
    * glue, and
    * paper.

    * Print out the template of choice.

    * Glue the tail pieces onto the turkey’s tail in numerical order.

5.Turkey Fan Toilet Paper Roll Craft

This is a cute three dimensional turkey craft suitable for a Thanksgiving theme, farm theme, birds theme, animals theme or letter T theme.

This particular project uses a fan as the tail… that makes it a bit more complicated than my typical Toilet Paper Roll Crafts but it looks really cute!

Materials:

    * Fan:
          o white paper
          o brown, red and orange paint, markers or crayons
          o stapler or glue

    * Body:
          o toilet paper roll,
          o something to colour with,
          o scissors,
          o glue, and
          o a printer,
          o paper

6.Fingerprint Turkey Craft

A finger and a bit of paint are all you need to make this super-cute turkey.

Its fun for children to make for namecards on the Thanksgiving supper table (we don’t normally use name-cards… we aren’t that formal, but sometimes the kids like to help out with the decorating and hostessing… they always seem to arrange a spot right beside Grandma *grin*)

Materials:

    * brown finger paint
    * red, yellow and/or orange finger paint
    * scrap of cardboard or old margarine container lid (something to act as a pallet)

    * black marker

    * paper or card stock

Directions:

    * Squeeze a bit of brown finger paint onto a margarine container lid

    * Squeeze a bit of red and/or orange finger paint onto the lid, spaced away from the brown paint (or use a second lid)

    * stamp the pad of your index finger into the orange or red paint

    * Use your finger to make an arch of fingerprints as the turkey’s tail

    * Optional: Make a second arch around the first one using your index finger or your pinkie again… you can use the same color or another autumn color for the second arch (it’s actually better to make the outside arch first if you’re planning to do two)

    * Use your thumb finger to stamp a brown thumbprint in the center of the arch as the turkey’s body

    * Use a marker to add feet, a beak and eyes.

7.Give Thanks Turkey Paper Craft

This is a fun craft to do with the entire extended family. The child can hand a slip of paper (tail piece) to each family member and ask them to write what they are thankful for. After everyone has made their contribution, the child can assemble the turkey.

Materials:

    * a printer,
    * paper,
    * scissors,
    * glue, and
    * something to colour with.

Instructions:

    * Print out the template of choice.

    * Colour (where appropriate).

    * Cut out the pieces. This step may require adult assistance. I usually let my youngest out the large pieces (like the tail pieces) and I cut out the more complicated pieces (like the wings)

    * Print what you’re thankful for on one of the pieces of the tail.

          o You can have everyone in the family fill out a strip and print their name on the back of the strip

          o Children can imagine what family members who aren’t able to contribute might be thankful for and add those (ex: baby brothers, pets, special stuffed toys)

    * Glue the pieces together:

          o glue the head onto the body

          o glue the wobbler under the beak

          o glue the "Give Thanks" sign onto the front of the body

          o glue the wings onto the body

          o glue the tail pieces behind the body

8.Handprint and Footprint Turkey Craft

It several peoples‘ handprints and foot!

Materials:

    * a printer,
    * paper (I prefer construction paper or another heavier paper),
    * scissors,
    * glue, and
    * something to colour with.

Templates:

    * Print out the template of choice.

    * Colour pieces, as necessary.

    * Cut out the pieces. This step may require adult assistance.

    * Trace around child’s foot (or for a bigger turkey, around an adult’s foot). Brown construction paper or a brown paper bag work well. The foot will serve as the turkey’s body.

    * Trace around child’s hands multiple times on different colours of construction paper (gift wrap works too).
          o The trick to the turkey is that more hand prints make it better!
          o Optional: You can decorate the handprints with squiggly marker lines, glitter glue pens, sequins or real feathers.
          o An Alternative: You can combine the hands of the whole family or classroom to make one big turkey!

    * Glue the handprints onto the body in layers to make the tail feathers (see picture above).

    * Glue the face and feet from the printable template to the body to finish.、

9.Handprint Turkey Craft

Yet another craft that uses handprints (I love ‘em!!). You can really make any animal with wings this way, but it’s always nice to have a printable template on hand for the rest of the critter.

Materials:

    * paper (for handprints) - brown or orange construction paper works well
    * pencil or marker

    * scissors
    * glue
    * printer and paper
    * something to color with

Instructions:

    * Print out the template of choice.

    * Color the template pieces (if using the B&W version)

    * Cut out the template pieces (young children may need help with this step)

    * Trace the child’s hands on another piece of paper and cut out (two handprints) — brown construction paper works well (or you can color a piece of white paper)

    * Glue the turkey together:
          o Glue the head (circle) to the body (teardrop shape)
          o Glue the face onto the head
          o Glue the tuft of feathers to the top of the head.
          o Glue the handprint wings on the back of the body
          o Glue the tail to the back of the body
          o Glue the feet onto the bottom of the body
          o Glue the flower on a wing or beside the neck

10.Turkey Paper Plate Craft

Materials:

    * paper plate
    * markers or pencil crayons (browns, reds, oranges)
    * brown and red paint (we used tempra paint)
    * template pieces I’ve provided (printer, paper and something to color with) or make your own by tracing the shapes onto construction paper
    * scissors
    * glue
    * stapler (optional, but it holds the body onto the plate quickly)

Directions

    * On a paper plate, draw lines with brown, red and orange shades of markers or pencil crayons, the lines should all cross in the center of the plate.

    * Have the children dip their index finger into brown paint and make fingerprints here and there on the plate.

    * Optional: let dry at this point — we never do, but you could.

    * Now have the children dip their pinkie finger into red paint and make a pinkie fingerprint in the center of each index fingerprint they made in the previous step

    * Set the plates aside to dry.

      WHILE THAT’S DRYING, make the body:

    * Print out the template of choice and color if using the B&W option.

          o I made the body brown, eyes black, gobbler red and beak orange on the color version. This fairly closely matches real turkey colors, but you can let the kids get creative when they color in the B&W version

            OR

          o Make your own template pieces by tracing the pieces from the B&W template onto a piece of cardboard or the lid of a plastic ice cream container. Cut these out before craft time. Now let the children trace the pieces onto construction paper

    * Cut out the template pieces.

    * Assemble the body:
          o the body is the largest piece — it looks a bit like a peanut… the head is the narrow part
          o glue the eyes, gobbler and beak onto the head (you could substitute wiggly eyes for the template ones or just use a black marker to draw on eyes)
          o glue the feet onto the bottom of the boddy

    * Glue or staple the body to the plate and you’re done your turkey!

The harvest festival of thanksgiving brings with it the need for shopping for thanksgiving gifts. The fourth Thursday of every year is celebrated with joy by giving these thanksgiving gifts to the loved ones. Thanksgiving is a day when families pay each other a visit and have a common dinner. The gifts that are given can range over a list of items. Usually almost all the shops in United States and the other countries celebrating thanksgiving offer sale on their products.

The thanksgiving season is filled with offers and rebates on products ranging from electronics to clothing. Fruit basket, pastries, donuts, ice creams and cookies are also put on sale during this week. The gifts can be classified based on the age of the person and also on the requirements. Generally, electronics have a high rebate due to excessive shopping. It is during thanksgiving that electronic items like laptops, TVs, computers, gaming consoles etc, are bought excessively. Games for consoles like Play Station 3, Xbox 360 and PCs etc, can be bought for almost less than half the price.

The electronic gifts also include MP3 players from major brands like Apple, Sony, SanDisk, Transcend and others. Apple also offers rebates on their iTunes. Apple products like iPod, iTouch and Video also get certain discounts and gift cards. Most of the retailers offer gift cards of varying amounts. There are other gifts like speaker systems, DVD and CD players. The blue ray players can also be considered as a gift. Apart from these there are also sale on GPS, Radios, Microwave ovens and other day to day appliances. So these can be gifted to one another during thanksgiving.

The other thanksgiving gifts that can be purchased are home and kitchen items. Furniture marts offer several new products on sale. Similarly, kitchen tools are also kept on sale during thanksgiving. Digital cameras, camcorders and optical cameras are great gifts. Clothing and winter wear are all kept on clearance during thanksgiving. All major brands offer rebates on these inner and outer wears. Black Friday sales are highly encouraged throughout the country and hence the gifts can be bought at a lower price than usual.

Apart from all the above mentioned gifts, there are also the traditional gifts which make thanksgiving all the more meaningful. Thanksgiving turkey is the best gift to be given during thanksgiving. This offers dinner for an entire family. Apart from the turkey, there are also other gift baskets which can be purchased. These include turkey truffles, gift basket consisting of assorted chocolates from various brands like Hershey, Ghirardelli etc. There are various baskets to choose from. Handcrafted ones offer better elegance when compared to the factory made ones. Fruit baskets, miniature thanksgiving toy baskets, flower baskets and fall feast baskets are some of the other baskets to select from.

There is one thing that thanksgiving can certainly not be without and that is the thanksgiving turkey. The thanksgiving turkey is the very first thing that comes to one’s mind when you think of this celebration. Ask even a child and they will be able to relate the turkey with thanksgiving.

Although you might be quite surprised to hear that originally the turkey did not enjoy the pride of place that it does nowadays. When the first thanksgiving was celebrated in the year 1621 in Plymouth, the thanksgiving table was laden with loads and loads of food of different kinds. Hence, on the table you would have found ducks, seals, eels, fish,

lobsters and goose. The reason was because these were the main foods available in plentiful during that season. There was also deer meat and all kinds of fowl on the thanksgiving table.

Then, you might wonder, how the thanksgiving turkey came to occupy the chief guests position on the platter. One such story goes about the Queen of England celebrating Thanksgiving in the 16 century and she was informed of the good news of the Spanish Armada being sunk by the English navy. This was when she ordered the chef to prepare a second goose and that is when the chef brought in the turkey with great gusto. Since that time, the turkey has been associated with thanksgiving and the roasted, juicy fleshy turkey is hardly something that anyone can resist, be it thanksgiving or not.

Another instance of the turkey being mentioned is when a letter was written by Edward Winslow and he talks about how the governor of that time had sent out four of his men to go out hunting and fetch him the best of turkeys, ducks and geese for the thanksgiving table.

In fact, the turkey is so very synonymous with thanksgiving that there will never ever be a table without one on it. The very first turkeys came from Mexico and they were cultivated by the pilgrims in Eastern US and then raised extensively all over Europe. The thing that makes this bird so looked forward to on the thanksgiving table is its size and the quality of meat. It is just right to feed an extensive hungry family.

Also, the turkey is considered to be a very honorable and respectable bird and quintessentially associated with the US.

So, go ahead and choose the best thanksgiving turkey, stuff it with the most delectable of things and spices and roast it. Then on the Thanksgiving Day, bring it out with great élan and watch every morsel of it being hungrily devoured by your family. The thanksgiving turkey will certainly get the fun times rolling for this celebration.

Hence, because of the delectable taste of the meat and eggs, the thanksgiving turkey is one thing no one is ever going to complain about. It is the most appetizing thing to have on your thanksgiving table.

Therefore, go ahead and shop for the best and juiciest of turkeys and happy thanksgiving and gorging!

What is a celebration without the right kind of decorations, and so is the case with Thanksgiving Decorations. Thanksgiving Decorations will allow you to showcase your home in the best of fashions to the entire family and bring about one memorable festival.

These are the decorations that are so very quintessential with thanksgiving and every time that your kids or family remember the celebration they will look back at it with great nostalgia.

There could be Thanksgiving Decorations on the thanksgiving table and there can be Thanksgiving Decorations all around the house.Keep in mind that the Thanksgiving dinner table is going to be the cynosure of all eyes. And, this year round you do not want only the turkey to take center stage but also your decorations. Place a flower vase in the center and fill it with flowers in the colors of the season.

Well, let us first look at the ones on the table. You can have a tablecloth with turkeys on it. Or you can have table mats made with the symbols of thanksgiving on it. You might also want to have a variety of tablemats and let people choose the ones they would want to opt for. Try and fold the napkins in the shape of the turkey. Then, you might want to arrange the platters and dishes in certain thanksgiving colors, predominantly orange and deep red. Make turkeys out of cups and place them all around the table. You might want to have the napkin holders cutouts as pilgrims or turkeys.

For the Thanksgiving Decorations around your house, you might want to think of making thanksgiving wreathes. They are great fun to make and can bring the whole family together.

Also, when they are hung around they can create the right ambience for the celebrations. Although, they are not as much fun as the mistletoes and holly!

All around the house you can have streamers that are made with the thanksgiving theme. So, you can make paper chains out of autumn leaves, turkey cutouts, or pumpkins and cranberries. Once you have got the basic idea in tact you can go ahead and add on several innovative ideas of your own.

You might even want to add a different touch to your Thanksgiving then you might want to consider forming a garland for the doorstep. Put together the things that are harvested during thanksgiving such as Indian corn, wheat, foliage, pumpkins, gourds and string them together along with some fresh aromatic leaves or flowers.

You might also want to turn a real vegetable and carve it into the most amazing looking centerpiece. This could be done with a gourd or an elongated pumpkin, if you can find one. Then you might want to stick a few feathers to make it look really authentic. Also, you can have cutouts of the pilgrims all around.

This is the right time for you to turn your imaginative side into the most versatile of thanksgiving decorations. This will turn your thanksgiving into one long, festive celebration.

There are several thanksgiving crafts that can keep you and your family gainfully engrossed for hours on end. These thanksgiving crafts are suitable for different age groups and just the thought of decorating your house with them can be an extremely fulfilling experience.

The thanksgiving crafts can be made from things lying around the house, or recyclable stuff, hence you are doing your bit for the environment too. Look around your home and you will find plenty of paper, cardboard, old cartons or boxes that have been there since ages waiting for someone to find a way for them.

Let us look at a few things that are synonymous with thanksgiving and then think of turning these thanksgiving symbols into thanksgiving crafts. The typical symbols that are associated with thanksgiving are pumpkin, pilgrims, wreathes made of vegetables, cranberry, corn cobs and of course the quintessential turkey. And not to forget the overall purpose of thanksgiving is to be thankful.

So, start off by making thank you cards for the people who help you. Encourage your kids to make cards for people who help them but whom they don’t get a chance to actually thanks. It could be the school bus driver, the garbage man or the school watchman. It could also be a grand aunt, grandparents, or their moms too.

Another thing that they could make is cutouts of turkeys to place around the house or the thanksgiving table. The turkey can be cutout from a leftover piece of cardboard and the feathers around it decorated with more cutouts or different materials. You could also be innovative and make the turkeys body using vegetables such as cucumber or any elongated and rounded vegetable, cones, pineapples and make this as the centerpiece for your thanksgiving table.

For younger children you could have different kinds of collages which are made from different templates such as those of pilgrims, leaves, vegetables and anything else that is linked with thanksgiving. Once that is done you can ask them to color it and arrange it in an attractive pattern on a construction sheet or cardboard and keep it as a wall hanging.

One can also have different kinds of leaves cutouts made into wreathes or streamers and hung at the doorway or around the dining table. You might also want to create different types of table place holders with the person’s name on it and inside could be written a short thank you note for them.You might also want to make a mosaic or a tableau of thanksgiving related things. You could make turkeys out of paper cups, or you might also want to make a pilgrim outfit for your children’s favorite toys out of old clothe.

If you have run out of creative ideas then you might just want to ask your children to draw and color thanksgiving related stuff.
All of these thanksgiving crafts will enable one to have an absolutely memorable and fun filled thanksgiving with their kids and family.

Thanksgiving 2009 is right round the corner. Everyone is geared up for the celebration of thanksgiving 2009 in a big way.
The day Thanksgiving is celebrated every year differs. Thanksgiving is a harvest festival and is celebrated to thank the Lord for the abundance of bounty and to count one’s blessings. It is also celebrated in the remembrance of the pilgrims who made America their new home and the great hardships that they had to encounter.

The two countries where it is predominantly celebrated on a large scale are in the US and Canada. Although, it has its roots as a Christian religious festival, now, it has taken on the hues of a festival that is celebrated by one and all.

The very first Thanksgiving was celebrated in the year 1565, on 8 September in Florida. The earliest proper Thanksgiving celebration can trace its roots to Plymouth. It was way back in the year 1621 when on a Plantation in Plymouth, family got together to celebrate a wonderful harvest. Hence, by 18 century, it had become a deeply entrenched celebration in the minds of Americans.

However, nowadays Thanksgiving is celebrated on different dates in Canada and the US. In the US it is on the fourth Thursday in the month of November and in Canada it is on the second Monday in the month of October. Hence, the Thanksgiving dates for 2009 for you to mark on your calendar are 26 November in the US. Canada has already celebrated Thanksgiving this year, on 12 October.

If we were to look at the dates on which Thanksgiving has been celebrated in the last two years, then it was on November 22, in the year 2007 and November 27, in the year 2008.
When is it going to be celebrated in the next two years, well, on November 25, in the year 2010, and November 24, in the year 2011? All of these are of course on Thursdays.

Thanksgiving is that time of the year when you have all your family and friends around you and the overall warmth and joy of being alive and have plentitude on one’s table.

Thanksgiving in Canada is celebrated on different dates and earlier because of the earlier harvesting of the crops that happens there. The roots of Thanksgiving have different roots but it primarily is meant to be a prayer of thanks for the bountiful harvest.

This will enable you to mark the dates on your calendar and be able to be with your family in one of the most joyous of celebrations.

The US Presidents have always played a chief role for Thanksgiving. Right from the time of George Washington who way back in the year 1789 proclaimed that the last Thursday in November will be celebrated as Thanksgiving. This was followed all over the US until in the year 1941; a United States Proclamation states that it will officially be celebrated on the fourth Thursday of every November. This has thus been declared the official date for Thanksgiving.

So, block the date November 26 on your calendar and have a day filled with merrymaking and bonhomie.

The fourth Thursday of November is celebrated by wishing “Happy Thanksgiving” to one another. Happy thanksgiving summarizes the joy and happiness of the harvest season. Thanksgiving is celebrated as a harvest festival where people thank the god and everyone around them for their prosperity. The thanksgiving festival comprises of sending Thanksgiving gifts to one another and having a joint family dinner.

The thanksgiving festival is celebrated mainly in the United States and Canada where the family members get together to feast on the thanksgiving turkey. The festival is known mainly for the stuffing, picnics, parades, exhibitions, sales and pumpkin pies. The thanksgiving mood is often spread by gifting one another and it is during this season that all shops offer discounts on their products. There are various rebates and sales on almost all the products. Electronic items are the most highly sought items closely followed by clothing. Almost all retailers offer a sale on black Friday which is the Friday following thanksgiving. The thanksgiving weekend is celebrated throughout the country. The festive mood is widespread and almost everyone end up gifting during this time.

Family dinner is the most important aspect of the thanksgiving festival. The thanksgiving turkey is cooked for this dinner. Each member offers their thanks to one and all and then begins feasting on the turkey. Thanksgiving parties are filled with décor, dance and gifts. The dinner which is the main highlight of the festival, is often prepared from dawn. Although it is referred to as thanksgiving dinner, the feast usually begins around lunch and passes on to dinner. The meal comprises of traditional dressing and stuffing.

The usual items in the thanksgiving dinner include the turkey, fruits, corn, lasagna, macaroni, cheese, pumpkin pie, pudding, rice, potato salad, white beans, kidney beans etc. The beverages include wine, cider, spirits, cocktails and iced tea.
